Our TentBox Lite 2.0 roof tent will fit on most cars, all you need is a roof load limit of over 60kg and a suitable set of roof bars (not just roof rails) for your vehicle. These are available to hire from us for most vehicles. Every car has a dynamic roof load limit, which is the weight that can be carried on your car roof when driving. The limit for your car can be found in your owners manual (usually under technical specifications). We will always do our best to check this for you before confirming your booking. Our Tentbox Lite 2.0 weighs 50kg and we'd also recommend allowing 7-10kg for roof bars. This means that your dynamic roof load limit will need to be at least 60kg. The static roof load limit is usually 3-5x higher than the dynamic limit.
Yes we do hire out roof bars, drop us a message with your car make, model and year and we can confirm if we have suitable roof bars.
Yes, before confirming your booking we will always check to ensure that your car is compatible and that you have suitable roof bars fitted (whether your own or hired from us). All you need to do after that is turn up and we will take care of everything for you. We will fit the roof tent to your car for you and give you a full set-up and close-down demonstration to make sure you are happy and comfortable with how everything works.
Booking is simple - just select the date and time you'd like to collect the roof tent, and the date and time you'd like to return and our nifty calculator will work out the price and check availability for you. There is the option to add roof bar hire during the booking process.
To confirm your booking all we ask for is a £20.00 non-refundable booking deposit to secure your dates. The balance of your hire is due 14 days before your collection date. If you are booking within 30 days of your trip then the full amount is payable on booking.
When collecting the tent we put a £250 hold on your credit or debit card just in case there is any damage when the tent is returned. This is then cancelled when you return.
Our standard nightly rates for the Tentbox Lite 2.0 are: £35 per night Sunday to Thursday £40 per night Friday & Saturday £200 for 7 nights.
To hire a roof tent from us we need to see a valid drivers license and a utility bill or bank statement that matches the address on your photo ID. These can provided on the day of collection, or ideally emailed to us beforehand.
